Part-time Marketing and Admin Assistant
Description
Location: Belfast (Hybrid/Flexible)
Reports to: Business Operations Manager
Hours: Part-Time – 20 hours per week (Flexible Schedule)
Role Overview
We’re looking for a creative, organised, and proactive Marketing and Admin Assistant to support our growing business. This is a part-time role ideal for someone who enjoys varied work, combining digital marketing, content creation, and general business support.
You’ll play a key role in helping VSM strengthen its brand presence, attract new leads, and maintain smooth day-to-day business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing
- Manage and grow VSM’s LinkedIn presence, including:
- Drafting and designing posts daily
- Engaging with followers and industry contacts
- Sending DMs and building network connections
- Monitoring performance and follower growth
- Create and send Mailchimp email campaigns, including design, content writing, and scheduling.
- Update and maintain the VSM website, posting new blogs, case studies, and resource updates.
- Manage and maintain the leads database, ensuring all marketing contacts and prospects are accurate and up to date.
- Research and draft editorials and features for industry publications.
- Identify and prepare award submissions for relevant industry categories.
Administration
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Business Operations Manager.
- Assist with general business operations tasks, such as document preparation, purchasing, and scheduling.
- Support internal communication, record-keeping, and coordination between departments.
Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Strong understanding of content strategy: what makes posts, emails, and visuals perform well for B2B audiences.
- Excellent design and visual communication skills with experience using Canva or similar tools to produce professional, eye-catching content.
- Confident managing email marketing campaigns (Mailchimp or similar) including list segmentation, layout, and performance tracking.
- Strong writing and storytelling ability, able to turn technical content into clear, engaging messages.
- Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Self-motivated, creative thinker who can bring fresh ideas to strengthen VSM’s online presence.
Desirable:
- Proven experience in using social media (particularly LinkedIn) to promote a business, grow followers, and generate engagement or leads.
- Experience in marketing or admin roles (especially in engineering, manufacturing, or B2B sectors).
- Basic website editing (e.g., WordPress, Wix, or similar).
- Familiarity with CRM tools or databases.
- Knowledge of SEO or social media analytics.

Field Service Engineer – Mechanical/Electrical
Description
Location: Northern Ireland (with travel across the UK & Ireland)
Reports to: Engineering Manager
Hours: Full-Time
Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer with a strong background in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing industrial and commercial machinery. You will work across customer sites, providing expert technical support to ensure machines run safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend customer sites to diagnose, maintain, and repair machinery.
- Carry out preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs.
- Provide technical advice and support to customers on machinery operation and care.
- Complete accurate service reports and documentation for all work undertaken.
- Liaise with the Engineering Manager regarding spare parts, repairs, and service schedules.
- Ensure health and safety compliance on all sites.
Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (HNC, HND, NVQ, or equivalent).
- Proven experience repairing and maintaining industrial and commercial machinery.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults independently.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
- Experience in food or pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.
- Experience using PLC-based control systems.

Electrical Maintenance Engineer/Electrician
Description
Salary: Up to £40,000 DoE
The company:
VSM is a Belfast based engineering company that prides itself on delivering top-quality mechanical and electrical services to the food and beverage industry. We work with some of the biggest house-hold names, global brands, and international food processors. Our reputation is built on technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to getting the job done right, first time, every time. From planned maintenance to complex installations and high-value upgrade projects, our skilled team consistently goes above and beyond to provide safe, reliable, and efficient solutions that keep our clients’ operations running smoothly. Due to our continuous growth, we now wish to add to our team by recruiting additional Electrical Maintenance Engineers to join the talent at VSM.
The role:
You’ll be part of a skilled and supportive team, working across a variety of projects for our clients at multiple sites. Your electrical expertise and fault-finding abilities will be put to good use across a wide range of tasks, from upgrading control panels and installing machinery, to providing planned maintenance and responding to breakdowns.
This is a hands-on, varied role that includes both project-based work and reactive or preventative electrical maintenance. We’re looking for a talented and experienced multi-skilled individual who enjoys diversity in their day-to-day and takes pride in quality workmanship.

This is a full-time role of 40hrs a week, Monday to Friday, with a core timetable of 8am to 4.30pm with occasional weekend and shift work when required by VSM’s customers (compensated at overtime rate or lieu time based on employee preference).
Essential criteria:
- Past experience in cable management (cable termination, installation of cable trays, cable ladders etc.) and panel wiring
- Past experience inspecting, diagnosing and repairing 3 phase motors, control circuits, safety circuits
- Relevant post apprenticeship level 3 or above in electrical installation of electrical systems
- 18th Edition
- A full UK/EU driving license
- Ability to work well under pressure as an individual and as part of a team
- Ability to read and use effectively wiring diagrams, schematics and Process & Instrumentation drawings
- Efficient and organised individual with awareness of the importance of hygiene and “as you go” housekeeping
- Mechanical skills and knowhow.
Desirable criteria:
- Prior experience delivering maintenance solutions in a fast paced food production environment
- PLC qualifications/experience
- IPAF mewp license
- Fixed wire testing qualifications and experience
- Sound knowledge off electrical systems, automated control systems and plcs
- Food safety qualifications
- Fixed wire testing experience
- Panel design/build/installation and commissioning.

What We Offer:
